In the autumn of 2024, we started helping a multinational corporation with its compliance with the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free products (EUDR).

In the summer of 2024, we started doing compliance work around the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) for multinational corporations.

Regulatory Expertise

As an expert in waste and circularity laws, Christine Nikander is a part of the consortium that has been selected by the Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) of the European Commission for the “Framework Contract on the Circular Economy and Waste to Resources”.

At Palsa & Pulk, we regularly participate in conducting legal research into the national transposition and implementation of EU directives related to energy and the environment for Europe-wide research studies.

As of the spring of 2024, Christine Nikander is participating in research for the European Commission (DG MOVE) on the national adoption and implementation of the Eurovignette Directive.

As of the spring of 2024, Christine Nikander is participating in research for the European Commission (DG EMPL) on the national transposition of the European Accessibility Act.

From 2022 to 2023, Christine Nikander participated in research for the European Commission (DG ENER) on the national implementation of Directive (EU) 2018/2002 on Energy Efficiency (EED) and the Directive (EU) 2018/844 on the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD).

Public interest work

As a social enterprise, Palsa & Pulk regularly engages in public interest, non-profit, and pro bono work.

We work with a variety of key partners and stakeholders.

As a team, we are currently working on three pro bono projects around sustainability education with non-profit organizations (such as BonoLab and Sustainability Education for Europe).

In the winter 2023 to spring 2024, we gave strategic advice to the Stockholm Environment Institute and Trase as a pro bono advisor.

Our founder, Christine Nikander regularly writes The E-Waste Column to help the broader public obtain an understanding of e-waste, critical raw materials, circularity, and what a just transition could look like.
