Palsa & Pulk is built on the belief that there are ample opportunities to build a better future. Together with our clients and partners, we look to advance sustainable and just practices throughout society.

Public interest work

​​

  • As a social enterprise, Palsa & Pulk regularly engages in public interest, non-profit, and pro bono work.

    • We work with a variety of key partners and stakeholders.

    • As a team, we are currently working on three pro bono projects around sustainability education with non-profit organizations (such as BonoLab and Sustainability Education for Europe).

    • In the winter 2023 to spring 2024, we gave strategic advice to the Stockholm Environment Institute and Trase as a pro bono advisor.

  • Our founder, Christine Nikander regularly writes The E-Waste Column to help the broader public obtain an understanding of e-waste, critical raw materials, circularity, and what a just transition could look like.

RecognitionS

  • Palsa & Pulk was one of the 24 startups invited to the second round of the StartupColumbia Challenge, as a part of the Spring 2023 Columbia Venture Competition.

Industry education

  • Palsa & Pulk  publishes The Just Transition Newsletter to help companies and organizations explore how we can achieve a just transition and how they can become champions for positive change.

  • Palsa & Pulk regularly presents insights on environmental and social sustainability topics at public conferences and industry expos.

    • Christine Nikander moderated a panel on the "Impact Of The Energy Transition: Assessing Demands & E-Waste Generation" at the E-Waste World Conference & Expo 2024 in Frankfurt.

    • We gave a presentation on "Social Sustainability Legislation In Metal Sourcing" at the Metal & Critical Raw Material Recycling World Conference & Expo 2024 in Frankfurt.

    • We give an online webinar hosted by Chemical Watch on "Navigating the regulatory landscape around greenwashing and chemicals" on 21 May 2024.

    • We gave a presentation on "Navigating the complexities around conflict minerals" at Chemical Watch’s virtual Global Chemicals Management for Electronics Conference 2023.

    • We also gave a presentation on "The Regulation of Raw Material Supply Chains Within the EU" at the E-Waste World Conference & Expo 2023 in Frankfurt.

  • In the spring to summer 2024, Palsa & Pulk participated in the student consultancy project for the master program in sustainable development at Utrecht University.

  • From autumn 2024 to spring 2025, a group of students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences are being given the opportunity to complete their applied research projects with Palsa & Pulk.
