Recognitions

Palsa & Pulk was invited to join UNIDO's Global Electronics Management (GEM) programme as a stakeholder in September 2025 and joined the programme at the start of 2026.

Christine Nikander was featured in The Bloom's 30 Under 30 Social Impact in December 2024 for her work on The E-Waste Column.

Christine Nikander became expert on waste and circularity laws in the consortium that was selected by the Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) of the European Commission for the “Framework Contract on the Circular Economy and Waste to Resources” in May 2024.

Palsa & Pulk was one of the 24 startups invited to the second round of the StartupColumbia Challenge, as a part of the Spring 2023 Columbia Venture Competition.

Industry education

Palsa & Pulk develops and operates The E-Waste Learning Hub and the TransitionEd app. These provide online education on the just energy transition, critical raw materials, e-waste, circularity, and systemic change.

Palsa & Pulk publishes The Just Transition Newsletter to help companies and organizations explore how we can achieve a just transition and how they can become champions for positive change.

Palsa & Pulk regularly presents insights on environmental and social sustainability topics at public conferences and industry expos.
Public interest work

As a social enterprise, Palsa & Pulk regularly engages in public interest, non-profit, and pro bono work.

We work with a variety of key partners and stakeholders.

As a team, we are currently working on three pro bono projects around sustainability education with non-profit organizations (such as BonoLab and Sustainability Education for Europe).

In the winter 2023 to spring 2024, we gave strategic advice to the Stockholm Environment Institute and Trase as a pro bono advisor.

Our founder, Christine Nikander regularly writes the free weekly column of The E-Waste Column to help the broader public obtain an understanding of e-waste, critical raw materials, circularity, and what a just transition could look like.
Higher education

We gave a talk on "Exploring two-in-one solutions to tackling the critical raw material and e-waste challenges" at the Global Challenges 2025 at Leiden University College.

From the spring to summer 2025, Palsa & Pulk participated in the student consultancy project for the master program in sustainable development at Utrecht University. The students created an interactive visual of the life cycle of a reusable vape.

From autumn 2024 to summer 2025, a group of students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences were given the opportunity to complete their applied research projects with Palsa & Pulk.
